Guns & security

Just saw the Runaway Jury on late night TV.

I will never NEVER understand the arguement that guns should be born by anyone.
  • Having a gun makes you less secure.
  • Guns only have one purpose - to kill living things
  • Manufacturers of other products are liable for their product failures.
  • All other products have safety features. Cars have airbags, electric devices have safety switches even
  • They can put password protection on a phone, locks on suitcases and even RFIDs in pets. Why can't we make guns trackable and lockable so they can only be used by people who should have them?
Heck, even the US 2nd Ammendment holds that it was for a "well regulated militia"  to be armed, not an individual - despite the recent ridiculous  ruling in District of Columbia v. Heller which held 'that the District's ban on handgun possession in the home violates the Second Amendment, as does its prohibition against rendering any lawful firearm in the home operable for the purpose of immediate self-defense'

Stupid.
